A new semester has officially begun and what better way to make new friends and connect with the Brașov vibes than an afternoon hike on the famous Tâmpa, with a spectacular view over the city during sunset. 

 

The meeting point was on the Tâmpa alley, near the cable car station, at 4 PM. You could hear the excitement in our voices, see the happiness on our faces, not knowing that in 15 minutes we would be sweating and thinking “Why did I agree to this?”.  

 

It’s already 4:20 PM and we have to get moving so we can catch the sunset, for those Instagram stories. Everyone had a hike buddy to talk to or just to emotionally support each other during the walk. Slowly but surely, we were on our way of conquering the top of Tâmpa. The time passed quickly thanks to the music we had, mostly latino for that boost of energy and good vibes, the soreness in our legs was more bearable. 

Of course, we had to take photo breaks, as the panorama view of Brașov was starting to catch shape. 

 

After an hour and a half of cardio and chit chatting, we finally got to the famous Brașov-Hollywood-style sign. The sun was starting to go down little by little, just in time for another session of photos. 

We used the few remaining drops of energy to go up a few more meters, to reach the top of Tampa, the final destination of our hike. Now it’s time to relax and enjoy the sunset!

 

    

Looking around you could see all of us bonding, forming new connections, having a few laughs, sharing snacks or just admiring the view in silence. 

This is just the beginning, and as far as I can tell, it’s going to be an amazing semester!
